Absorption lines of CH⁺ (λ4232), CH (λ4300), and Na I (λ5895) toward SMC (left) and LMC (right) stars observed under program V03. Only the Magellanic Clouds absorption is shown. The vertical scale is expanded by a factor of 5 for the molecular lines (right‐hand scales). The molecular lines were observed with UVES at a resolution of 4.5 km s⁻¹; most of the Na I lines (except those toward AV 476, Sk −67 2, and Sk −68 52) were observed with the ESO 3.6 m coudé echelle spectrometer, at resolutions of 1.2–2.0 km s⁻¹.
