CMD of galactic (orange) and extragalactic (blue) objects, and comparison with AS 209bkg. The object is consistent with the galactic population. The arrows show how AS 209bkg would move on the diagram in the case one would correct for ISM or gray extinction (AV = 2.0 mag for both). When extinction is accounted for, the photometry of AS 209bkg agrees more strongly with the galactic population.
