As an aid to understanding the small-coverage behavior exhibited in Figure 12, the log of the three components of ﹩\mathrm{SBR}=4﹩ is plotted vs. coverage solid angle Ω_A for ﹩\lambda =400\,\mathrm{nm}﹩. For small coverages SIR is the smallest, and hence interference is the dominant source of background radiation.
