Planets make good targets for transmission spectroscopy if they orbit bright, small stars. This plot shows planets that orbit stars with spectral type M3V or later and that are brighter than Ks = 10. The box is an approximate region showing planets that may have somewhat extended atmospheres (i.e., super-Earths) and are in the circumstellar habitable zone. There are 10 planets within this region, making up the prime JWST target sample from TESS.
