Example of sample selection criteria in the ﹩{T}_{\mathrm{eff}}﹩–﹩{M}_{V}﹩ diagram for the solar-metallicity bin. The background gray-scale map shows the number density (in base 10 logarithmic scale) of stars of ﹩-0.05\lt [\mathrm{Fe}/{\rm{H}}]\lt 0.05﹩ dex in the value-added catalog. Blue curves, from left to right, are Y2 isochrones of ages ranging from 1 to 16 Gyr for [Fe/H] = 0.0 and [α/Fe] = 0.0 dex. Stars falling within the two red curves constitute the main-sequence turnoff and subgiant sample stars for this solar-metallicity bin.
