Probability distribution on the orbital inclination angle ι of GW170817, obtained by combining the distance and inclination inferred from the gravitational-wave signal, the host galaxy redshift, and an independent measurement of the Hubble constant. The blue curve is based on the DES measurement of H₀, while the red curve is based on a combination of five statistically independent H₀ measurements (DES Collaboration et al. 2017).
