(a) Spectral images (in reversed colors) obtained from slit scans in the Fe XXIV (∼18 MK), Fe XXIII (∼14 MK), and Fe XVI (∼3 MK) lines. The magenta box (same as in Figure 1) indicates the current sheet, particularly in the Fe XXIV images. The diamond and asterisk symbols denote two sample locations (at the cusp and inside the current sheet, respectively) where the Fe XXIV and Fe XXIII line profiles are plotted in panel (b). (b) Observed Fe XXIV and Fe XXIII line profiles (black and gray curves) at the sample locations and the single Gaussian fittings (red curves). The vertical dotted line represents the line center. Note that the preflare Fe XXIV profile (gray) at the location marked by a diamond is multiplied by 10. It is seen that no obvious Fe XXIII emission appears at the location marked by the asterisk.
