Recovery of ﹩{({\text{}}{\rm{M}}/{\rm{L}})}_{* }﹩ from mock data as a function of S/N for [Z/H] = 0.0 (orange) and [Z/H] = −1.0 (blue) models. The circles show the median difference between the input ﹩{({\text{}}{\rm{M}}/{\rm{L}})}_{* }﹩ and the inferred ﹩{({\text{}}{\rm{M}}/{\rm{L}})}_{* }﹩ derived from the fits of 10 realizations of mock data. An S/N of ﹩\gtrapprox 100﹩ is needed to recover the M/L. The gray band shows the range of S/N values in the data.
