Image Details
Caption: Figure 5.
The distributions of star, gas, and star formation of post-starburst galaxies. First column: HSC i-band light. The contour levels are 31, 29, and 27 “mag/.” Galaxies with similar redshifts to post-starburst galaxies are labeled. Most post-starburst galaxies have clear tidal features or a companion in the field of view. Second column: HST/F814W (gray scale image) and CO(2-1) (contours) maps. The morphologies of the main stellar bodies of post-starburst galaxies are vastly different. Contour levels are −3σ, 3σ, 6σ, 12σ, and 18 σ. Hashed ellipses are the primary beams. Third column: the VLA 3 GHz maps. Radio emissions are unresolved. Fourth column: Spitzer MIPS 24μm maps. Galaxies with CO(2-1) detections are also detect in 24 μm. Hashed circles in the third and fourth columns are the nominal angular resolutions.
