Map of rolloff frequency νrolloff across Tycho, with black contours from the 3–20 keV image in Figure 8. The softest spectra (i.e., those with the smallest best-fit values of νrolloff) are found in the southeast and north of Tycho, while the hardest spectra are in the northeast and the west. The hardest spectra (with νrolloff ≳ 3 × 1017 Hz) are coincident with the “stripes” found in deep Chandra observations of Tycho by Eriksen et al. (2011).
