The solid curve displays the best fit of the χ² model within the σ_max cutoff represented by the dashed vertical line. A best-fit precision of σ_i = 0.38 ± 0.02 km s⁻¹ is found. The vertical dotted line marks 4σ_i, the minimum standard deviation required for a velocity-variable designation.
